I recently started building the Cormorant 16 from the specs Grant posted on his website. I first built a prototype hull from cheap doorskins - just to boost my confidence in my limited woodworking skills and to make sure I liked the way the boat looked.

Well, I was quite pleased with how it went together - the numbers in the plan are very accurate and the hull took shape perfectly. I was also happy with the way it looked. I've now gone on and bought some okoume and am just about to stitch together the "real" hull tomorrow. Can't give you any feed back on how it paddles yet, but it is a nice looking boat.

Hope that helps, but I'd also be interested in other responses from people who have gotten a little farther down the road of building the Cormorant than I have.
