I had a tough time getting my custom glass seat into my boat and its a CLC Chessapeake 18 wihich has a pretty large coaming. I found that I had to trim the edges of the seat a bit and then bend it a bit and I could just bearly get it into the hole. My seat is supported by minicell rails though in the sides and front and back of the seat to hold it off the floor.

PS. Making the mold isnt too bad if you go the sand in a box route with plastic wrap over the sand surface.
