Hello all,

I am starting my first yak (Little Auk), and was shocked at the shipping charges for cedar strips ($168!!!). Does anyone know of a source of bead and cove in the general Los Angeles/Orange County area?

I went to the Kayak show last weekend at Newport Back Bay and met some really great strip builders, and one person mentioned a local supply, but for some reason my brain went dead about as soon as he finished talking. I guess I was too busy drooling over his beautiful double that was about finished.

Just a side note.......The double had some really neat foot rests that were adjustable by pulling/pushing on a blue adjustment bar. He said that this was a new system, and gave me the name of the manufacturer, but again my brain is leaking :-)
