Just thought I'd ask for some opinions/suggestions - I'd like to add a "leash" to the hatch covers on my Coho, so that I don't have to worry about misplacing them, or having them slip into the water and float away as I'm unpacking my kayak.

This could be an obvious answer; just drill a hole through the hull and the hatch, add some type of screw, and then connect with bungee - bingo, I'm done. But before I start messing up that pretty deck, I thought I'd see if anyone else had other ideas.

FYI, the Coho uses a lip on which the hatch sits, so that the hatch is flush mounted.

Any suggestions are appreciated!
