Mike,

I'm continuing to ask questions on table saws and yesterday stopped at a Woodcraft store in Rochester New York. The one person in the store had no knowledge of the strip built process, but pointed me at the Festool system.

My search on the "Festool" led me to your comment, and your opinion is what I expected, that the Festool would not lend itself to ripping strips.

Others may have that question so I thought that I'd explore it a little further.

I see that Festool has a guide that is 106 inches. Could that not be set up to rip and route eight foot pieces.

And here let me flaunt my ignorance ... How long are the pieces one generally rips? Is it typical to work with pieces longer than eight feet?
