The saw blade runs on a seperate arbor from the motor and is usually powered via a belt (some use gears). They are more powerfull and quieter than direct drive models. And morre accurate! Figure at least $600, with $1500 getting you something to brag about. Woodcraft has a Delta on sale for $1699, that includes $300 in accessories.
