: I have worn through the double fiberglassed ends of my chesapeake 16 twice so
: far. I was wondering if I could "glue" a 1/2" strip of
: copper sheet metal to the bottom of the boat for better abrasion
: resistance?

The "Official" stuff for this purpose is "stem band". Hamilton Marine has the stuff. This is usually mounted by screwing in place. It will be harder than copper and more abrasion resistant. It is available in a variety of sizes.
