A kit would take away half the fun, I do a lot of carpentry at home so I have the skills and the tools. Besides I don't care for paying the extra for the kit and shipping. I don't have a problem with cutting and scarfing the ply and lofting the plans.
The 3 sheets of Okoume 1088 4mm marine ply cost me $150 at a local boat builder supply. They have all the epoxy and fibreglass I need, I was just overwhelmed by all the options. After some careful reading I better understand what epoxy to get and which cloth.
