: What about something like this:
: ? It's 19.95 and the description reads:

: "The Cadet Bi-Metal Double Pole (4 wires) Thermostat is an
: economical choice for wall-mount, electrical-resistance heating.
: Uses a snap-action bi-metal temperature control with an
: industrial-grade Micro Switch for extended life. The T410
: replaces most wall-mount line voltage thermostats. Recommended
: for electric baseboard and in-wall fan heaters. Easy-to-install
: color-coded wiring. In White."

: The dial goes down to 40 deg. F but who knows how accurate that is.

: Will

Actually electric baseboard heater elements work very well for heating small areas and are pretty rugged and relatively cheap. Grainger stocks them. Works just fine on a cheap inline thermostat too. Will heat a small area like under a kayak a whole bunch faster than a bunch of light bulbs, probably safer too.
