Strip: victory! coaming lip

Today I built the coaming lip for the guillemot. I used 1/4 x 1/4 walnut, three thick so 3/4 inch total width.
Using my bush league steam box the walnut bent around the coaming riser well. I bent the first piece around one side clamped and then hot glued in place, then pulled the clamps put glue on the first piece and pulled the second from the steam box and bent, clamped, hot glued to the first, and then repeat for the third.
On the second side I first cut the extra length off the front edge and squared up the back edge, then butted up the first piece to the one from the other side and bent around to the front letting it overhang again to be cut and shaped later. Same idea as the other side for the remaining pieces. Just my take on it I figure keeping the two sides separate will make it easier to glue them on after they are shaped, and the hot glue worked better than expected to hold the first piece to the riser strips in order for me to keep going.
This was my first time doing this but even so doing it like this so far has only taken me about two hours, I don't know if this is good time or not but it is done and was quite straight forward.
