Hypodermic needles in the kid's section? Boy, you sure live in a rough neighborhood!

I imagine you could find dosing syringes for giving medicine to babies in drog stores, but what we need are syringes with very fine, pointed steel needles which can puncture epoxy resin after it has set up, but is still a bit green. Plastic needles such as they use on glue syringes, such as craft stores would have, have been used, but it requires using a drill to make a hole leading to the buried air bubble.

It used to be illegal to get both syringes and needles without a prescription, but many states have been opening the gates to these in response to the spread of AIDS through sharing of needles by intravenous drug users. Sponsors of needle swap programs have convinced lawmakers and police that the availability of needles doesn't promote drug use. Even so, it is a shame that such precise and inexpensive glue dispensers are classified as drug paraphernalia if intended for human use. However, if you plan to give a medicine to your dog, cat, or horse it is perfectly fine to have these for that purpose. Or if you have a research lab and need to dispense minute amounts of chemicals, your company can buy these. Buying by mail order, or online seems to skirt the issue.
