Is your blade running straight? Runout (or wobble) is a common problem, sometimes caused by dirt between the blade and the saw arbor. The easiest way to check is to cut a short way into a piece of hardwood, then fit the cut over the blade. If there is any slack then there is runout. This should also be checked on a table saw, which is a lot easier as you can use a dial gauge.
