: I am going to experiment with dye on one hull. What is the correct
: sequence and time frame for applying dye then sealing the wood
: with epoxy then glassing? Any sanding between dye and epoxy seal
: coat due to raised wood grain? How long should the dye dry
: before epoxy won't lift it?
: Thank you,

One thing to remember, having the grain raised slightly has no effect at all on an epoxied surface. People get seriously carried away trying to get a perfect wood surface and the epoxy just hides it anyway, specially with glass (or any other fiber). You're actually somewhat better off with a somewhat rough surface because the epoxy bonds to it better. 100 grit sandpaper finish is fine, 80's not bad anything over 100 is a waste of time.
