Re: Tools: Plane for interior-concave surfaces

: I'd like to know what everyone is using to smooth the inside.
: In the past I've used a mini-grinder with 60 grit and even a
: Japanese shaping plane (c in photo). Two extremes.

: I think I'm going to build a wooden plane using one of my block
: plane blades similar to the above shaping planes but larger.
: I probably need one for tight radiuii and another for wider flat
: areas.

: Has anyone used a pull shave?

If you are going to build your own planes, you may want to check out James Krenov's approach. I can't remember if it is detailed in "The Fine Art of Cabinetmaking" or " A cabinet Maker's Notebook". He has great instructions on how to build a very usable and comfortable tool. I have used his approach to make several planes that were tailored for specific projects.
