Strip: Advice on glassing over the lip

I'm all ready to glass up the inside coming and over lip, but could use some advice on how to terminate the glass at the bottom of the outside coming. I've taped off, but what's the best way to cut the glass? In the past, I've trimmed it maybe 3 hours after glassing as it's just setting up, but this has pulled the glass up a bit and I've had to be real careful. With the glass coming up over that lip and down the outside coming, I'd guess this will be much more of a problem. Can I let it almost fully cure and still expect to be able to cut the glass and get the tape off?
