: I agree with Jay that the lip may very well be strong enough
: without glass if it is laminated thin strips glued with epoxy,

: again under the deck nor under the lip. This may be overkill,

: years. Better to have it built for any circumstances than to

Well I ended up glassing up the inside coming, over the lip, down the outside coming, and terminated it just onto the deck. It was certainly tedious, but with careful work, it turned out very well. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate all the different comments and trains of thought on these things. It gives me new ideas for next time....
