Well, not a whole lot, except that interested parties who are unaware of the forum's existence will be more likely to come across it, and more likely to find answers to their questions from its contents. That's good for everyone.

But better Google results generate more traffic to hosting sites. Some businesspeople are motivated by that, some not. I'm not here to tell Nick how to run his business and forum. I'm just making the observation that it would be a likely outcome and that might partly justify the effort required to set it up.
