Nick, I tried the 3.2 after having a similar discussion with Bill Hamm; it's been wonderful! I wouldn't go back to the 4 or 6 ounce.

It drapes very nicely, has a tighter weave, uses much less epoxy. I double thickness on the bottom and stems, and put a few

're-inforcements' inside where I feel like it. If you read Vaclavs site, and look at how he does it, it's well outlined. My 16' boat weighs just

30#, and it's very seaworthy. You won't believe how much easier it is to load/unload this lighter boat, and the handling on the water

is a delight, as well. If this is your first build (?), I'd stress what most of us find out the hard way - 'less is more', ie, squeegee off all the

excess epoxy that you can. Read Maurers website, he's almost religious about it, and his weights are unparralled by most. BTW, great bunch

here - very helpful, giving of their expertise.
