I may be wrong, but I don't think there's too much to worry about. As I understand it, Uncle Nick has been studying the "problem" for some time, and I trust that he has excellent reasons for everything he does. One thing I'm totally confident he is on to is that no matter what he does, some folks will rejoice while other go for the torches and pitchforks.

I have been online since 1992 (boy, was The Internet a different place back then or what?), and belong to, or have been on, an astonishing number of forums, groups, list servs, newsgroups (back when they were an in thing), etc., covering a wide variety of topics (did you know there's a forum for straight razor shaving enthusiasts?). Every forum, group or whatever has a certain "personality", and it's like a metaphysical thing that I'm convinced nobody can put their finger on, as to what makes 'em tick as they do .... although I have to believe a certain portion of the aura comes from the person who presides over it.

I am delighted to be able to say that this forum has consistently ranked Number One for everything that make a forum good, in my book. Well, except for this god-awful software, that is. JUST KIDDING, I actually LIKE IT. No, really, it's like a sea kayak itself, whereas, as I always like to say, there's good news and bad news: the bad news is that it isn't like your general recreational fare, and requires a certain amount of skill and snap to manage.
