In Response To: Epoxy: OLD? Hardener (John Faas)

I have used Mas on two boats now. My first it build lasted over two winters, I noticed that my slow hardner started to yellow compared to the fresh clear stuff. I used it anyway with no problems. It is always good to do a test piece before you go whole hog. Joe

: I am using MAS epoxy that came with my CLC kit. It will be two
: years since I got the kit.
: The MAS site says the hardener last at least one year in a sealed
: bottle.
: I have not had any problems so far.

: Are there any noticeable indicators the epoxy is too old to use?

: Or does the boat just fall apart on the front face of a really big
: wave?

: I am about to put the deck on and then will be glassing the
: exterior of the hull/deck--inside is already done--the by the
: book process on the Arctic Hawk.

: To all of you who contribute to the forum many many thanks. Please
: pardon typo's and faulty grammar.
