No reason a sailing rig won't work on a SOF, just have to upsize some of the members to compensate for the extra stresses. Also have to have a way to resist the twisting moment from the sailing rig that's not present in a rowed or paddled boat.

The sailing rig will though add weight, so it won't be really light like this one is.
