: I'm contemplating finishes on my 5th strip boat. This one has
: redwood, basswood, walnut, WRC and I want to keep the colors as
: natural as possible without the amber color of varnishes. Thus I
: am considering two urethane varnishes and wondered if anyone has
: had any experience with these or some other clear varnish.

I have nothing but disdain for WR-LPU. I had a couple of bad experiences. Don't get me started on it...
I now have my strippers sprayed with automotive clearcoat. I'm not equipped for spraying so I have a local body shop do it. The price is very reasonable for the quality.
If you don;t mind brushing (or roll and tripping) your finish consider Interlux Perfection Varnish. It's a two-component urethane and is crystal clear. Each coat cures for recoating in about 8 hours. I used to finish a kayak in three days: two coats on the deck, three on the hull. Good for years of wear and tear.
