Or you can build your own hovercraft and drive it over lakes, swamps, rocks, roads, beaches, and that other white ground cover, snow. This is a model which has short wings and, with a bit of a run, can get about 10' into the air. Higher than that it loses the ground effect. Heck of a thing to use to chase away jet skiers. Steer straight for them at full speed, scare the wits out of them, then rock back so the wings catch air and fly barely over their heads. No harm, no foul, and if they wet their swim suits, well, who could tell.
