I have this amazing ability to eyeball stuff and make an exact copy on the bandsaw. In my case it was a gash so I fit a piece of the same wood into the gash, keeping the grain running the same way. What you could do is just plane it flat and glue on a stemband. This was on the bow, right? If so just make the bow flat with a plane, glue a matching piece on, and reshape it.
