: I do have a small craftsman 18v cordless circular saw. The blade
: diameter
: is 6 1/2". Honestly, i've never thought to use a circular saw
: in any direction
: other than straight. I guess with the blade set just below the
: thickness of the ply,
: it would do a gentle curve nicely. Love the idea of foam insulation
: under the ply. I'll give
: it a try. Double sided tape is a great idea too. You're right about
: the outdoor
: carpet tape, that stuff is brutal.
: Thanks!

The foam tabletop trick works very well, way nicer than having the ply hanging over the edge of the table or balanced across saw horses. My foam sheet is on its 4th or 5th boat and is good for one more, then it will get resurrected as ceiling insulation or possibly noise insulation around the vac. Waste not, want not!

A circular saw cuts a smooth curve if the center part of the blade does not contact the workpiece. Set it just deep enough that the carbide chips clear the bottom surface of the ply, about 1/8" is OK and gives a clean cut in my experience.

I use a tiny saw to cut ply planking, just 3-3/8" dia. It handles 2 layers of 4 mm ply fine but that's its limit; it can be set to a depth of 1" and will creep through thick ply but it automatically shuts down if overloaded. It is no longer on sale as it got a lot of complaints from users, it's fiddly or even annoying to use and has a rep for early failure. It was sold as a precision saw and it's obviously not meant for heavy work but some people expect too much IMHO.
