Yes, non-traditional frames for these go together very fast! I would have had this one built in two days, but I spent an extra day just fiddling around with the stems.

Mike, the masik hits me right below the knees - but, above the calves. So, the meatiest part of the leg is in the widest part of the boat. The need for padding would depend on the size of one's legs. Mine are pretty skinny, so yes for me - but only assuming I'd be using this boat where a lot of rolling would be required. For just paddling, no outfitting would be required, and it would still roll fine, you'd just move around inside the boat a bit more. My Disko Bay was the same, and I never padded it out.

This cockpit takes a "standard" sized skirt, and, of course, is easier to get in and out of for most people (including me and my unhappy knee).

Anyway, here's a pic that shows her off a little better. If you scrape off the brown paint, that yellow is the color underneath.
