: Has anyone used Alaskan yellow cedar and/or Spanish cedar for
: stripping? I haven't used or really even seen either, but from
: descriptions I've read they seem promising. How are they to work
: with? How dark is Spanish cedar? How light is yellow cedar?
: Would these two woods be suitable for dark and light contrasting
: strips? Thanks.

I used AYC for contrast strips in my Cape Ann. In the photo the dark wood is dark WRC and the yellow is AYC. The rest is regular WRC. On my computer, the colours in the photo look about true.

The main issue I had with the AYC is that it is significantly stiffer than WRC so was much harder to get it to conform and twist. Using a heat gun helped.
