In Response To: Strip: Skeg control location (John Bratton)

: Nasty crosswinds are common so I am installing a retractible skeg
: on my latest build a Night Herring HD.

: Where should the control be mounted? I am right handed so I figured
: the control box should be on the left side in between the shear
: line and the combing lip just forward of my hip location....Is
: this correct?

Its up to you; put it where you can get at it most comfortably.
If you are right handed perhaps the right hand side would be best.
Below the shear line is better as you won't hit it inadvertently.
