I have some pine and mahogany window frames in my house that are nearly 30 years old. The pine has darkened, another decade or so and it will be darker than the mahogany. My brother-in-law recently had a similar frame made for one of his windows and I was amazed by how light is was - I had forgotten. However I have pine contrast strips on my canoe which is kept in the garage, not so much light there, and the pine is still very light, but that's after only 4 years.
