lash an empty 2 liter sodabottle to each end of an 8-foot-long1x2. Secure that to your deck so it hangs out like wings on an airplane. It will take a lot of tipping to force that bottle underwater. Once you are comfortable, rotate the 1x2 in line with the boat and no one will know you started with training wheels.
