: I'm considering another Yost style build, and am keen on Brian
: Hansel's Siskiwit Bay multi-chine design. I have a few questions
: for Brian and/or anyone, as appropriate.

: Has anyone built this as SOF? I haven't been able to Google up any
: build logs or discussion by builders.

: The Yost-ish .pdf plan doesn't include HAB's for keelson/rocker,
: nor for many of the chine points, as are seen in Yost plans. I
: may be missing something. Or, does one print the .pdf sections
: to scale, and measure from them to get the keelson HAB's.

: I like the idea of the "chined" deck, as foot room has
: always been a problem. The deck is said to be experimental, and
: may be more for the ply builders, since it has sweeping lines.
: But, I suppose one could use steam (not immediately available)
: or heat gun (have that) to bend some deck beams to get the
: sweep? ... whereas not putting some permanent bend in them would
: cause them to work against the structural curves?

: The design is tuned to medium to heavy paddlers (the strip version
: states 140-240lb paddler range), and I'm just at 140. I may
: scale the design down to about 97%, which would knock off about
: a half inch of width, and 6 inches of length. I get the general
: idea of scaling. I presume this would include every dimension,
: including distance between bulkheads, and HAB's for the
: keelson/rocker?

: Oh, and I recall Dave Gentry had built a Yost-style Disko Bay.
: Wasn't there discussion about making those offsets available?

: Thanks!

I'm pretty sure, since I have plans for Bryan's Siskiwit Bay LV, that all his designs are designed for strip building. So...you'll have to do some work to comvert the plans to make them work for SOF construction. The only designer that uses HB and HAB that I know of is Tom Yost, so you'll need to come up with those numbers yourself.
