: Nice job. What did you use as a finish? I am in the process of
: making a sink but prefer not to use a petoleum varnish as I do
: on my kayaks. Looking for something totally water proof but
: benign to human skin and perhaps if the water is ingested.

I didn't apply any finish. I just brushed on a smooth coat of epoxy. You could sand and polish the epoxy surface with 400, 600 grit wet paper and buff it if you wished. No need though. As the epoxy cures over time the surface will turn slightly dull, which is probably amine blush. Just wash it with water.

Since it is indoors the tub will not be subject to UV damage from the sun.

I made a oak counter, inset into an old formica counter, for a new sink in the kitchen. I just covered the oak with four coats of epoxy and sanded, then applied a final coat of epoxy. Caulked it where it mated the old counter and wall. It's four years old and looks great.
