Original post was done with IE. I'm using Google now and it's working - but not for all posts in this thread!!

In the meantime, the idea to laminate two 1/4" exterior fir may work. All the wood here is good one side, so you get one really nice face but the reverse is ultra crappy. Laminating the bad sides back to back will yield a piece with two good faces with less splintering.

I've been using Elmer's Waterproof glue with great success on my laminated Greenland paddles so I may use this join the pieces. I just built a S&G that was glassed inside and out with 6 oz cloth (doubled on the hull bottom), so I'm tired of epoxy right now!!

Think I'll scour the lumber stores tomorrow for some half decent ply!!
