Yes, test it in the yard but don't make the mistake I made. Allow for the final seat back position. I marked mine before I had the seat and should have moved the whole foot assembly about 2" forward. It's fine for me but not much adjustment for a taller paddler.
Lots of adjustment on the short side though!
BTW, 2" down from the sheer worked out well.....but it's a different boat.
