: I feel for you. One of the main things I've learned from my own
: kayak building is that if I have a schedule all the enjoyment of
: the process goes away. It goes from being an enjoyable hobby to
: being 'work'. I get enough work when I'm at work or when the
: wife creates anther chore.

Yeah! I would have finished this project months ago but Linda loved the way I wrapped the birthday gift so much that she refused to open it for 4 months, so I had to work on it over the winter instead of finishing it up before the winter. Now I am racing to get 'er done so that we can paddle together. The favorable aspect of this project is that I don't have to do any house work. Gotta stay optimistic about things. I stayed up until 0100h last night to fill the seams after attaching the deck and will be back at it by 1130 this morning to get the deck sanded, then off to work until 1030 pm, then back to mom's to glass the deck. Ugh! It has the feel of a grind but at least it's a good grind. I was burning incense, listening to Stuart McClean (CBC radio story teller) and drinking a decent brew while dewiring, filling seams, taping joints and touching up the deck. THAT is my happy zone regardless of how much sleep I am losing. :)

: Hope you can get back to building the stripper soon. With no
: schedule so you can relax and enjoy the build.

Me, too! My strong back looks pathetic laying on the floor when it should be propped with forms neatly aligned and my planer is begging to be used.
