: roller tray works great when you're doing this, spreads out the
: resin and the metal sucks out any extra heat too. If it's really
: warm out, can even put the roller tray on ice to keep the resin

Epoxy starts to thicken the moment you mix in the hardener.

If you care about having a transparent glass lay-up small batches will
keep the resin at it's thinnest to wet-out the best.

If you care about having the lightest possible hand lay-up, small batches will keep the resin
thin to wet-out fast and ALLOW you to squeegee excess resin out of the cloth.

I've noticed the difference when I used larger batches, especially on the hull interior, where the
resin thickened slightly and I could not squeegee out the excess.

I never mix more than a 6 oz. batch of resin and it is very easy to estimate how much resin I
will need to finish a job. I waste very little $$$$ resin.

Details make all the difference.
