If the aluminum is captured, tube in a tube for example then creep is the only thing you really have to worry about, can't very well have a peel problem if it can't happen to start with. Makes it a bit more simple. Still, good idea to at least try to remove the oxide, scotch brite pad or something like it works fine, though it's messy, turns your hands black :)
