Yeah, i'm being a cheap ass. The fir was $7 for a 2x6x12, and clear pine was $13 for a 1x6x8. $14 vs $52 at the expense of a little weight. I am going to rip the fir to 5/8" instead of 3/4" to make up for some ofbthe weight gain.
