Well I know a little about Greenland techniques myself, although I'm not a guru or cultist. But I've never heard of this technique being common or "traditional", though like I said it would be the natural thing to do in the situation where its your life or his. But then what-I fail to see how an unconscious or concussed person is much easier to rescue in conditions that would have caused capsize and failure to roll in the first place.
