I use a forstner bit, cordless drill on low speed, steady hands and high hopes for accuracy. I tape up both sides and drill a pilot hole, but you've got to let the edge of the forstner bite in a bit before the center brad starts tracking the pilot hole. I've done two boats this way and had good results.
