: It's completely off topic, but I'm building a canoe prototype. It's
: secret code name is "Darth Canoe." It's a symmetrical,
: 16'6" long, 34" wide, traditional-looking canoe. I'm
: using 1/8" strips for the side and switching to 3/16"
: strips for the turn of the bilge and the bottom. I'm going to
: dye it a deep deep walnut, and the inside is going to be covered
: with carbon fiber. I haven't decided on trim yet. If the weather
: holds, it should be stripped by tomorrow evening and glasses by
: Monday or Tuesday.

Well a canoe isn't "that" far off topic, it's still paddling. I think time in a canoe makes you a better kayak paddler.

Someday, perhaps when I finally retire, I'd like to build a lapstrake canoe, just 'cause.
