That's a nice set-up. Everything sealed and the magnetic reed switch virtually eliminates water/electrical problems.

I guess my obsession with manual simplicity-dependability is dependent upon the available pumps, which seem to be heavy and slow.
Just yesterday I stumbled across a tiny electric pump that moves 1 gallon a minute--it's used in coffee makers. If this tiny thing can do 2/3rds of the job of my Guzzler, electric just might be the only way to go. (The essential design/engineering problem is that almost all pumps emphasize pressure (head) over volume. In a kayak where we don't need to lift the water more than a foot, like using a bulldozer as a family car.
