Strip: Footbraces redux

Got the SeaLects, but they won't fit in the Shooting Star. I'd wind up with my heels crossed, or something like that.... The footbraces seem very rugged, but they just occupy too much space, and the hull's too narrow, so I guess it's back to foam on the bulkhead. Problem with that is that there's too much "give." Any Shooting Star owners out there care to chime in?!?!?
