If you really want to get serious about it, follow the Wright Brother's practice and build wooden wheels. It's hard to see in the picture, but I've been to Greenfield Village and they are wood. Scary when you consider there were only a few miles of paved roads in Dayton when they made these, but wood is good at absorbing vibration.
