Not 100% sure what I am looking for Robert.
there is a recent thread about black kayaks which touches on issues of visibility and heat absorption which caught my eye.
I personally love the look of a black but am not convinced that I want a gloss black hull so was wondering if the graphite treatment produced a gloss or a matt finish. I found a post that indicated that varnish/clear coats were not required with a graphite hull. This aspect interested me.
i have seen gloss black hulls and have painted one myself, a ches 17 with a gloss black hulle( plaing old enamel paint) and a stripped pine deck. The contrast looks great.
Any one have a matt black hull?
