: Thanks for the reminder, Bill. I'll do just that next week when I
: start painting. I will also be doing the work in light layers
: until I get a nice even coat. No worries there.

Suggestion: Play with coat thickness before hand. You may be able to obtain a better, more even finish with a slightly heavier coat, rather than building up very thin coats. The issue is that with the MF, it needs a certain flow to pass through the sprayer. Also, if you try to do to many thin coats, the MF doesn't have a direction to "lay". If you've ever seen a metallic finish on a car where one panel just didn't match the rest, even though the color was correct, it's because the panel wasn't sprayed in the same direction... With MF you usually always want to spray the same direction, not back and forth and across.

You can get an even coat going a little thicker, it just takes a little practice. The important factors are keeping the gun moving at the same speed, the same distance from the surface, with the same flow rate, and not overlapping the strokes to much.

Take a sample piece of ply, primer it well, and use it as a test piece. Use different colors to see how even the coats are going on, etc.

And have fun - starting out it can be a little frustrating, but practice until you are comfortable, and the results can be spectacular!
