In Response To: Strip: white spots - partially cured epoxy (Bill VerSteeg)

Unfortunately, the last fill coat apparently had 1
: small batch of epoxy that had the must have had the wrong mix of
: hardener. So, I have 3 or 4 small (2-3 inch square) spots of
: semi-hardened epoxy that turned white/milky when I got the boat
: wet.

Start with 0 grade steel wool and alcohol to remove the uncured epoxy. If that doesn't work use lacquer thinner and steel wool.

Steel wool is great because it will hold the liquid and if the steel wool gums up use another side or pull off the loaded portion.

If you have not used steel wool before, it is another form of abrasive which will hold liquids and conform to odd shapes.

IF as you state this is the last fill coat you will not harm the glass and do not need to patch it.

Wear a respirator and rubber gloves. Dry, wash with water and recoat.
