Strip: splitting the strip *PIC*

So I brought my lumber home for the strips and it turns out the thickness of the board was 1 1/16" thick. I went ahead and cut them into 3/16th thick strips. after milling the B&C, they came out to about 1 inch exactly. It was going to be tough to make the compound bends on the bow and stern. I took a japanese pull saw and split the strip for about the first two feet, to the second form. This allows me to bend it in separate steps. Hitting it with the heat gun makes it bend nicely. then gluing the second part of the split to the first, locks it all into place once it dries.
