Since getting a cheap bench-mounted disc sander it has become my chosen weapon for cutting scarfs in thin strips. I set the table at 90 deg, clamp on a guide and stuff them in! Takes seconds a cut and each one is dead-on with the most perfect feather edge you could wish for.

sanders are the best thing since sliced boats - I mean bread . . .
