Douglas,
I think you could cut off the beveled portion of the form and add your laminated inner stem to it, if the form was cut to match the end of the boat. If Susan VanLeuvens book said to bevel the form, that would cause the strips to end at the end of the form. By cutting the bevel off the form and adding an inner stem of the same thickness, the stem would end at the same point as the original form. At least that's how I've been doing it.
